Turn a CBZ into a PDF, or a PDF into a CBZ

or drop one here
Choose a CBZ or image-only PDF first.

CBZ to PDF converts a CBZ comic archive into a PDF, or turns an image-only PDF back into a CBZ, without uploading either file. Numbered folders and file names sort naturally, so page 2 comes before page 10. Original JPG and PNG bytes are kept where possible, a PDF page that is not one standalone image is refused rather than flattened, and every output page is reopened before download.

How to convert a comic archive in your browser

  1. Choose a CBZ or PDF

Choose one file or drop it onto the page. The file stays inside this browser tab, so no file content leaves your device.

  2. Check the page order

CBZ folders and file names are sorted naturally, so page 2 comes before page 10. PDF pages keep their existing order. Move or remove rows before converting.

  3. Choose the PDF paper

For CBZ input, match each image or place it on A4 or US Letter paper with the margin you choose. PDF to CBZ needs no layout setting, because an archive stores image files rather than pages.

  4. Download the checked file

The result is reopened inside the browser. Every page, archive entry, and exact JPEG stream must pass before the download button appears.

Why are CBZ and PDF different containers?

A CBZ is a ZIP archive of image files. A PDF page can also contain text, vector shapes, transparency, and several images. PDF to CBZ is available only when every page maps cleanly to one standalone JPG or PNG image, so a page with selectable text or vector artwork is refused rather than flattened. This keeps the conversion lossless in both directions.

CBR uses RAR rather than ZIP and is not supported. Convert the archive to CBZ first, then use this tool. This tool only moves image files between containers, so nothing here re-encodes a page. The verifier compares stored JPEG streams byte for byte after the PDF is written.

To combine several CBZ archives into one PDF, convert each one here and then use Merge PDF. To reorder or remove pages afterward, use Organize pages. For loose JPG or PNG images, use Images to PDF, and for a single format use JPG to PDF or PNG to PDF.

When should I convert CBZ to PDF here?

This CBZ to PDF converter is free with no account needed. Reading, conversion, and verification all run in this browser tab, so no file content reaches a server: usage data events carry only action names, counts, sizes and durations.

Reading a comic on a device without a comic reader. When a phone or tablet opens PDF out of the box but has no CBZ reader installed, converting the archive to PDF lets you read it in any browser or document app.

Sharing a comic with someone who does not read comics. A PDF is a safer format to send to a non-technical recipient, because it opens in any PDF reader without a specialist app.

Archiving a comic collection. A PDF is easier to browse and file than a ZIP archive, and it preserves the page order you chose.

Extracting images from an image-only PDF. Going the other way, PDF to CBZ turns a scan or photo PDF into a ZIP of original JPG or PNG files that a comic reader or image viewer can open.

If the PDF is too large to store or send, Compress PDF reduces the image data, and Size breakdown shows which pages carry the weight before you compress anything.

CBZ to PDF frequently asked questions

What files can I convert?
The tool accepts CBZ archives containing JPG or PNG pages and PDFs with exactly one standalone JPG or PNG image on every page. CBR files are not accepted.
How are CBZ pages sorted?
Folder paths and file names use natural number sorting. For example, page-2.jpg comes before page-10.jpg. The order is shown before conversion.
Does CBZ to PDF lower image quality?
No. JPG and PNG pages are embedded without resampling. Stored JPEG streams are compared byte for byte after the PDF is written.
Why can some PDFs not become a CBZ?
A comic archive has one image file per page. A PDF page with selectable text, several images, inline images, or vector artwork is ambiguous, so the tool refuses it rather than dropping content.
Does the file leave my browser?
No. Reading, conversion, and verification run in this tab. No file content reaches a server; usage data events carry only action names, counts, sizes and durations.
What paper size does the converted PDF use?
Each page can match its own image, or sit on A4 or US Letter paper with the margin you choose. PDF to CBZ needs no paper setting, because an archive stores image files rather than pages.
Is there a file size or page limit?
No account is required and there is no queue. Files are processed in this tab and held in memory, so very large sets depend on what your browser and device can handle.
Is CBR supported?
No. CBR uses RAR rather than ZIP. Convert the archive to CBZ first, then use this tool.
